Monika

Music Lead

Monika is a musician and vocalist living in Edinburgh. After studying classical music in Prague, Vocal Performance at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, and Composition for Music and Media at the University of Sussex, Monika started working as a private music tutor, teaching piano, singing and music theory. She believes that music lessons are a great way for kids to exercise their creative freedom, and loves to make lessons as fun as possible while still setting achievable goals for each individual student.

Shiza

Art Lead

Shiza, a Fine Art student at the University of Edinburgh and a certified yoga and meditation instructor, blends Eastern wisdom with Western art practices to lead healing art sessions. Inspired by her upbringing in Pakistan, she hosts therapeutic workshops in Edinburgh and Pakistan, aiming to foster emotional wellness. She advocates for a holistic approach, incorporating music, breathwork, and guided imagery to encourage creative exploration. Shiza's passion lies in providing support and empowerment to the younger generation through the transformative power of art.

Poppy

After school Maths Lead

Popp achieved the highest grades in both Economics and Mathematics at A-Level. Poppy’s journey in
mathematics started at a young age when she began competing in various mathematical competitions across the UK, receiving an academic scholarship at age 11 and eventually captaining her school team to the UKMT Team National finals.


Her love of mathematics is not only about personal enjoyment, but about fostering a creative and comfortable environment in order for others to share and engage in a higher level thinking without pressure of examination, allowing for a nurturing and interactive experience.


Having over 4 years of tutoring experience with children of all ages, Poppy aim is to make maths accessible and enjoyable for every child by creating an individual relationship in which they feel comfortable in asking questions they may not feel able to in school.

Caitlin Visser

Dance Lead

Allow us to introduce Caitlin, a dynamic addition to the Little Plaza team. Caitlin will be leading dance classes, as well as hosting art and language events. Hailing from Belgium, Caitlin's unique upbringing in a bilingual environment, with her father being Belgian, instilled in her a deep appreciation for the power of language and its ability to open doors to exciting new experiences and opportunities.

Caitlin's journey with dance began at the tender age of four when she enrolled in a British ballet school based in Brussels. This multicultural setting allowed her to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Through her love for dance, she not only met lifelong friends but also discovered the joy of motivating others to express themselves through movement.

Furthermore, Caitlin recently graduated from university with a degree in Graphic Design, showcasing her passion for various forms of art and crafts, where she experiments with a wide range of mediums. Caitlin's diverse skills and experiences are a valuable asset to Little Plaza, and she is excited to share her love for the arts and inspire others to explore their creative potential.
